Campaigns for Social Change

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
– Margaret Mead

Through its multimedia awareness campaigns and volunteer activities, Kuch Khaas brings key social and environmental issues to the forefront of the community’s consciousness and encourages constructive action. Examples of our campaigns include “Kuch Saaf”, a clean-up initiative that aims to reduce littering and pollution and conserve energy through community action; and “Nazrein Neechay”, which is a call to men to take responsibility for their behaviour towards women (specifically, by abandoning the socially accepted and propagated Pakistani male habit of staring at women!).

The themes of Kuch Khaas’s social campaigns are the topics of short film contests and parliamentary style debate competitions aimed at schools and colleges, in order to get youth thinking about these issues and actively contribute to constructing powerful, positive messages for change.
