Kang Duk Won is the old school Martial Art whose new form is Tae Kwon Do, the Korean style of free handed combat. This art is a combination of Katas (Forms), One Step Techniques, Free Sparring, In Fighting Techniques and all exercises leading up to higher belts.
We have designed a 3-month duration Self Defense Program For Ladies with 3 classes per week, 1.5 hours per class. This program is a combination of all techniques needed for self defense and to be able to neutralize a much bigger and stronger opponent in a situation of crisis by using combination of both sides of both hands, fingers, elbows, knees, punches, kicks etc. etc. Selecting techniques from the entire 4-year Black Belt program has brought this combination together.
It is a moderate to extreme form of training towards the last month with a gradual buildup of fitness and technique. Fitness and conditioning are built into the program as basic components.
Master Shahid Mir, 2nd Dan Black Belt trained the participants personally.
During the Orientation, Master Shahid Mir threw light on the philosophy behind free handed combat of Kang Duk Won which is necessary for mental discipline much needed in all aspects of our daily lives.
